Wealth, part 3: Causes of Disparity

Some of you still owe me the assignment about inequality (aboriginals, gender) that was due today. Hand it in tomorrow (Wednesday), please.

Now that we understand how to measure disparity (GDP, HDI, etc.) and we understand the characteristics of disparity (developed vs. developing, good debt vs. debt cycle, regional and social inequalities, etc.), we will examine the causes of disparity (concentration of wealth, control over resources and the legacy of colonialism). This corresponds with pp. 160-165 in the textbook.
