GLOBALIZATION:
Read the two articles in the booklet; answer the following questions on the page provided at the back of the intro booklet. If you run out of room, finish on loose-leaf and staple. You will have time to complete these in class on Tuesday, but arrive with at least three completed.
1. What are some characteristics of globalisation?
2. Since WWII, world trade and foreign investment has doubled. What explains this?
3. Why is globalisation so controversial?
4. Discuss three positive and three negative results of a globalized economy.
5. What is Canada’s experience with globalisation since the 1980’s?
6. Since the mid-20th century, world trade has increased 20 times, while foreign investment has almost doubled. Explain how this is possible.
REVIEW FOR YOUR TEST ON THURSDAY, OCT. 1:
The following questions provide you a framework to study for your test. On loose-leaf, answer them using your notes, textbook and your booklet. Answer them in point form:
